Welcome to a friendly space

Our Friendly Space Policy

Welcome to the GameCamp Berlin. We are glad that you are here to spend two insightful and joyful days with us and other people from all over the world. It is important to us that the BarCamp is an experience free of harassment and discrimination, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, height, ethnic origin, religion or the preferred game genre (without any claim to completeness). Please note the following:

  • We do not tolerate any harassment or discrimination of conference participants in any form.
  • Sexualised language and images are inappropriate in any lecture, discussion or at the party.
  • We expect attendees, who are requested to knock off their offensive behaviour, to do so immediately. Otherwise, they may be sanctioned or excluded from the conference by the organizers.

“Harassment” means (without any claim to completeness): offensive comments on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, appearance, body size, ethnic origin, political orientation or religion. “Harassment” also includes sexualised imagery in public spaces, deliberate threats, stalking, insulting photographs or recordings, continued disruption of lectures or other events, inappropriate body contact and unsolicited sexualised attention.

If you are being harassed yourself, become a witness or any other problem occurs, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the organizing team immediately. We accompany persons who were subjected to harassment, we help if necessary in contacting the police and in any other way. Your participation is important to us.

Members of the organizing team are: Florian Berger, Melanie Fritsch, Annegret Montag, Christian Roth and Felix Schröter. The contact information and telephone numbers will be announced at the event.

If all participants follow these rules during the BarCamp, in the conference building as well as at GameCamp-related events, we can have a really good time together. Thank you for participating!
